Terms of use

These terms govern your use of the Bakery & Catering Equipment website and any enquiry, quote request or order placed through it. By using the site, you agree to these terms as set out below.

1. Who operates this website and how it is used

This website is operated for Bakery & Catering Equipment by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd. The site is provided to share product information, receive enquiries, and assist with sales and support for bakery pans, lids, trays and related bakeware made for local commercial use.

When you submit an enquiry, request a quote, ask for size matching or place an order, you confirm that the details you provide are accurate and complete. We may use your contact information to respond, prepare quotations, confirm specifications, and arrange follow up where needed.

2. Quotes, prices and specifications

Quotes from Bakery & Catering Equipment are valid for 14 days unless the quote states otherwise. Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where shown. Steel and coating costs move with the market, so a quote that has lapsed may need to be reissued before we accept an order.

Bakeware sizes, gauges, coatings and tin configurations are confirmed in writing before production starts. Where you send a sample pan or drawing for size matching, the approved quote and drawing become the specification we make to. Small variations in finish that do not affect fit or baking performance are normal for pressed and folded steel.

3. Orders and custom tins

An order is accepted once we confirm it by email and, where required, receive the deposit. Stock items are supplied from available inventory. Custom tins, straps and lids are made to your approved specification and cannot be cancelled once cutting or folding has started, because the material cannot be reused for another customer.

Lead times given in a quote are our best estimate based on current workshop load. We will tell you promptly by email if a date is likely to move.

4. Payment

Unless a credit account has been approved in writing, custom work requires a 50% deposit with the balance due before dispatch, and stock items are payable in full before dispatch. Payment is by EFT to the bank account shown on our invoice. We will never change our banking details by email; if you receive such a message, phone us on a number you already know before paying.

Approved account customers pay within the agreed terms. Overdue accounts may be placed on hold until they are settled.

5. Delivery and collection

We deliver across Gauteng with our own vehicle and use courier and road freight partners for orders further afield. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery or collection. Please check the quantity and condition of each consignment when it arrives and note any damage on the delivery note, then email us photos within two working days so we can take it up with the carrier.

Collections from Alrode are by appointment during working hours.

6. Returns, defects and warranty

If a product is defective in material or workmanship, or does not match the approved specification, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will repair, replace or credit it. This does not limit any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act where it applies to your purchase.

Wear from normal use, damage from metal utensils, harsh cleaning chemicals, overheating empty pans or incorrect storage is not a defect. Stock items in unused condition may be returned within 7 days by agreement, subject to a handling fee. Custom-made items cannot be returned unless they are defective.

7. Intellectual property

The text, photographs, drawings and logos on this website belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own business use, but you may not copy, republish or sell them without our written permission. Drawings you send us remain yours, and we use them only to quote and make your order.

8. Personal information

We handle the personal information you give us in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act and our privacy policy. We use it to answer enquiries, prepare quotes, process orders and arrange delivery, and we do not sell it.

9. Limitation of liability

We take care to keep the information on this site accurate, but it is a general guide and may change without notice. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost production or profit, arising from the use of this website or our products. Our total liability on any order is limited to the price paid for the goods concerned.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page applies from the date it is published. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If a dispute arises, we will first try to resolve it with you by email in good faith.
