Order Tracking

What you can check on your order

We can confirm where your order sits in the process, from material prep through fabrication, finishing, packing and dispatch. If you placed a batch reorder, a copy run, or a new set made to size, we can also tell you whether the pattern has been approved and whether production is on track.

Common updates include whether your order is still in the workshop, ready for final checks, packed for courier, or waiting for collection in Alrode. If you ordered from Germiston, Boksburg, Soweto or Midrand, we can advise on likely handover timing and transport planning, especially when load-shedding or wet weather affects the day.

Have your order details ready before you ask

The fastest way to get a proper answer is to send us the order number, company name and the name used when the order was placed. If you do not have the number, give us the product description, quantity, size, and the date you paid or approved the quote. That helps us trace the job quickly in the workshop records.

For bread pans, lids, perforated trays and baguette trays, size details matter. If you supplied sample pans for copying, tell us the reference job or the date the sample was dropped off. Small details like depth, lip shape and handle position can affect the finishing stage, so it is worth being specific. It saves time for everyone, no need to guess.

How to request an update by email or phone

You can contact our orders team by email at orders@bakerycateringequipment.co.za. Please keep your message short and clear, with your order details in the first line. If you are phoning from a bakery floor or from a truck on the road, have the reference ready so we can pull up the file fast.

If your order is urgent, say so and explain why. For example, a new bakery opening, a municipal inspection deadline, or a change in production shift can affect how we prioritise dispatch. We will always be straight with you about what can be done and what cannot be rushed.

  • Use the same contact name used on the order
  • Include quantity and product type
  • State whether you want dispatch or collection info
  • Mention any deadline, if one applies

Understanding production timing in a local factory

Production timing depends on the type of item, the gauge of steel, whether perforation is needed and how many units are in the batch. A simple standard pan order moves differently from a heavy gauge build or a custom lid fitting job. If we are busy with batch reorders, your order may still be moving through the queue even though it is already booked in.

Power interruptions, material lead times and workshop capacity can affect the schedule. In Johannesburg South, we plan around load-shedding as best we can, but a cut can pause forming or finishing for a while. We will tell you if that changes the expected date, rather than leaving you to wonder.

When your order is ready for collection or dispatch

Once your order is complete, we will let you know whether it is ready for collection at our Alrode base or packed for delivery. If you are collecting, please come with the correct vehicle space, straps if needed and someone who can inspect the goods on handover. Some tray sets are bulkier than they look, and a small bakkie bed can be tight.

If dispatch is going out to Alberton, Germiston or further afield, we will confirm the handover window and any packing notes. Coastal humidity is not a big issue for Gauteng most days, but if stock is moving between areas or sitting longer than planned, proper wrapping and dry storage still matters. We pack accordingly and make a note if items are ready earlier than expected.

  • Check collection hours before leaving
  • Bring your reference number
  • Inspect items before signing off
  • Tell us immediately if anything looks off

If your order is delayed or needs a change

Sometimes a job needs a revised size, an extra lid, or a different tray count after production has started. Tell us as soon as possible, because even a small change can affect fitting, cutting and finish. If the order is already in final stages, we will explain the options clearly and let you know whether the change can still be made.

If your order is late, we first check whether it is still in production, ready for packing, or held back by a missing approval. We also check whether the delay is linked to a material issue, a transport delay, or a queued batch. You will get a honest answer, not a vague one.
